The last week and a half has been a flurry of activity!
Monday, July 18th-We found out that we were not chosen for the twins. We were also notified that another birth mother was given our profile to view.
Tuesday, July 19th-We were notified that the birth mother was going to be viewing our profile this day. We were excited and prayed often throughout the day and night.
Wednesday, July 20th-Had the morning out as a family and went swimming. Came home to rest and got a call around 3pm that the birth mom had chosen us! We were so excited! We also found out that she was due the first week in August! On top of this we found out that our paperwork would officially be expired for the adoption.
Next few days-Hurredly scheduled doctors appointments for updated physicals, sent off background checks, and updated several other documents.
Tuesday, July 26th-We all had our medicals done, Weyland worked in the afternoon, and then we hit the road to meet the birthmother! We stayed in Nashville for the night.
Wednesday, July 27th-Continued on the road and met with the birth mother in the afternoon! She is such an amazing woman...we loved being able to meet her and get to know her. What a gift! We traveled back home that night.
Thursday, July 28th-Finished the stack of paperwork and cleaned the house for our Home study visit the next day.
Friday, July 29th-Home visit complete, all paperwork in. Praise the Lord. I think we have set a new record for getting home study paperwork done!
All throughout these packed days we are reminded of the Lord's faithfulness. We are enjoying thinking about taking our baby girl home within hopefully just a couple weeks. We are praying for the birth mother. We are preparing our home. Most of all, we are thankful to the Lord for His provision after years of waiting for our next baby.
1. That the birthmom would stay healthy and safely deliver the baby.
2. Please pray that the birth mother remains resolute in her adoption plan.
3. Financially: Please pray that the Lord would prosper Weyland's work. Also pray that our agency would accept our fee request since it is within the monies we already have available to us.
4. Pray that God would guard our hearts against anxiety. The Lord is sovereign, good, and caring; our hearts are fragile and forgetful. Please pray that God would make us strong in faith to rest in Him.
We are so thankful for your prayers and support.
