love lily and are so proud of her. She turned seven months old two
days ago. Here is a fun photo look back.

An Update
Thank you for your prayers and encouragement! Praise the Lord with us----we already have ICPC approval so that we can leave to come home on Monday! This is a HUGE answer to prayer! Please continue to pray for the following:
--Safe travels (We leave to pick her up on Sunday and come home Monday)
--Smooth day on Monday (We have our placement & court hearing on Monday as well as drive home-FULL DAY!)
--For our health and Lily's
--That we would be a witness to Christ and that we'd be a testimony to God's faithfulness
--That we would arrive home safe and sound with baby Lily Grace on Monday
Here is a pic of Lily Grace smiling. . .her foster mom sent it to me today!

Here We Go Again!
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for your faithfulness in praying for our family in regards to adoption. This has been a long, hard, emotional road.
As you know, we adopted Amber Kate on March 27th. We had five days with her in our family and then we had to give her up because her birthmom changed her mind about placing her for adoption. This has been painful for us. We miss Amber tremendously and pray that we will have her back soon. Currently, the birthmom is in the process of gaining custody of Amber from the foster care system. She could still place Amber with us, or her rights could be terminated by the state. . . . .we wait. Meanwhile we receive bits of news that Amber is a happy, healthy baby who loves music and people! We miss her sweet smiles.
In the mean time, our desire to be parents is still there. We had requested that our file remain closed until we knew what was happening with Amber. Our agency, however, presented us with another option two weeks ago (April 23rd):
There is currently another African American baby girl who needs a family. She was born a healthy 9 pounds on April 10th, 2008. If we wanted her, we could have her and then Amber too, if she became available. This adoption would not hinder logistically or financially getting Amber back. Another plus, the birthmom's rights were already terminated--no chance of her changing her mind. We thought it through over the weekend and decided to move forward! Maybe this was our answer to originally requesting twins. . we'll see! We have waited to break the news until she was ready for placement. Now we are set and most of the paperwork is in place. We plan to pick her up Monday, May 12th and be home as early as Tuesday, May 13th. Please pray for the following:
--Our hearts--They are fragile from losing Amber and we desire a successful adoption
--For safe travels
--For the baby's medical paperwork to come in today
--For Interstate compact to pass by Monday (this gives us permission to leave the state on Tuesday to come back home with the baby)
--For Bonding (this baby is a month old)
--For the birth father's rights to be successfully terminated on May 12th
Please help us welcome Lily Grace Leach!

And please continue to pray for her "big" sister Amber Kate, that we would have her soon (her birthmom's court date is May 19th).
Thanks for praying,
Weyland & Katie Leach
