Pardon the Silence, Please...

If I have any readers left after almost two weeks of silence, here is an update from our corner of the earth.

Weyland and I just celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary yesterday!  Time does fly....we reflected on the past seven years and we are so thankful for everything that has happened in our lives.  This past year has been particularly eventful and we are thankful for how God has used events in our lives to strengthen our marriage and our faith....

One of which is children.   I never thought in my dreaming of the future that I would have to rely on the Lord as much we are for the growth of our family.  I was the one who was going to bear 12 children and live in a shoe....just kidding....but really, both of us want a large family and so the fact that we have been married 7 years and have spent much of that time praying and waiting and longing for the Lord to fill our home with children is hard for us.  After losing Amber, part of our hearts went with her.  We still consider her ours and pray for her as we pray for Lily.  Then God blessed us with Lily.  Really blessed us.  She is an amazing little girl whose delight and zest for life and all it holds brings us more and more joy.  We pray that this fervor will be for Christ as she grows in understanding of Him.

We are in a season of waiting again....waiting on the Lord to act for us.  We have been in the active adoption process since 2007.  This included our adoption of Lily and then keeping paperwork current to try to re-adopt Amber and then opening up our file again with our agency once we knew Amber would not become part of our family legally.  Since the fall, we have had more than a few birth moms look into placing with us, but for whatever reason, it has not worked out.  We are entering yet another situation with much prayer and tentative hearts.  Even though you tell yourself not to get attached, the reality is that you do.  The Lord is our strength, He has held us and continues to  uphold us.  We have no guarantee that this current situation will be our child, but we pray that the Lord would care for this birth mom and baby.  That ultimately,  Christ would reign in their lives and that they would be adopted by our Father in heaven.  Please pray with us.

There has been much  to be thankful for as we wait....We received word that last year around $800 was donated to MATCH FUND for us by two different families.  You know who you are...THANK YOU!  We are really close now to having adequate funds to bring an orphan home!!   Over the last year from Katelyn's Fund, MATCH, Lifesong, Shaohannah's Hope fund,  and our jewelry fundraiser and gifts from friends and family directly to us, we have over $13,000!  That is amazing!!

We are thankful for you our unknown reader and family...for reading, praying, encouraging, and walking with us.  We are thankful for the love you pour into our lives, especially Lily's life.   We love you.
